This is Fastback 9 helps by MyBinding.com. We're going to show you the basics of how to bind a book. In this demo, we're going to bind with a narrow LX strip. There are three buttons on the right hand side of the machine. The top orange one is the menu button. Press it and scroll through the selections on the LCD panel until you find LX strip and then press the green button to save your selection. Always keep in mind that attached to the base of the machine is a cheat sheet, six easy steps to binding a book.

First, you'll need to select a binding strip. Narrow strips can bind a book of up to 125 sheets and medium up to 250. If you're not sure what size your book is, simply place it into the throat of the machine, push the green button, and the LCD panel will let you know use a medium or use a narrow. And the color is up to you.

Once you've selected the color and size LX strip you'll be using, it's time to crease it and place it into the machine, adhesive side up. Let's watch that again, a little slower this time. Pinch your fingers right on the crease, a very natural fold, and run your fingers down both sides to complete it. Some people prefer to lay their strip flat on the table and use both hands to fold. However, snapping and pulling is faster. With the adhesive side facing up, place the strip down inside the throat of the machine, with the shorter of the two edges facing the back. Jog your book together and with the front of the book facing back, place it on top of the tape. Give it a good shake and a jog and make sure it's all the way over to the right hand side. Then press the green button for go. The whole binding cycle will take about 30 to 45 seconds and the LCD panel on the front will walk you through and let you know what's happening. When the panel reads "Remove Book" you're all done. Take it out and place it in the rack in the back to cool for a good one to three minutes.

And that is how to bind a book with the Fastback 9.
