Welcome to MyBinding How To videos. This video will show you how to oil a shredder using the indirect method. Very important is that you use actual shredder oil. These oils are formulated differently than other kinds of oils for your shredder. Some are packaged with an open end that allow you to fill a large container, like an automatic oiler in a larger or more expensive machine. Some are packaged with pour spouts. This is what you'll need for this method. Oiling by the indirect method, you'll first take a few sheets of paper, say, three or four. Apply the shredder oil onto the paper in an "S" pattern all the way down the sheet. And that paper, along with a couple of other sheets of paper, are put into your shredder as if you were shredding a document. Then, turn the reverse button on so the rollers go backwards and fully coat all the gears inside. You should do this for a whole minute. And that's the indirect method for oiling your paper shredder.
